Way back in the day when I originally posted this on instagram, I got in a short debate with one of my fans on wether or not this was an EP or an LP. Honestly, Who cares? If the person who fucking made it calls it an EP, it's an EP... Moving on!

Violent J- Wizard of the Hood: an EP released by violent j of the insane clown posse in 2003, this EP acts as an extension of the insane clown posses song off of the carnival of carnage. This EP comes in various forms with some extra tracks. One form (the one I have) is in a metal tin and came with rolling papers dubbed "violent joints". In popular opinion, this CD is superior to the shining. The whole CD flows and has a story with other psychopathic records artists (of the time) jumping in to assist in the music taking the roles of the characters from the movie. Twiztid plays the tin man and scarecrow, blaze us dead homie plays he lion, and shaggy 2 dope appears as the wizard. There's even an appearance from ABK as a guard in Oz. [PARTIAL SPOILER ALERT]>> The EP begins with J in Detroit hustling and being the thug he is. When he storm comes. This is probably the most amusing track on here. He lands in oz and the munchkins tell him to "take your ass down the yellow brick road motherfucker!" J does and meet the scarecrow in "homies to smoke with" which is tied with Shiny diamond for the best song on the album. Along the way people join him just like in the movie only for different reasons. Scarecrow wants people to smoke with, tin man wants a gun, and the lion wants bitches. Finally arriving in oz they learn some cute lessons. The songs in this come across as playful (cite: the "I always feel like some odors watching me" reference) but, this is one of the deepest and most feeling music put out by J. With songs like Shiny diamonds and what you thinkin about hitting close to home for many people. There are so many reasons this EP deserves a great rating. My only complaint is hat on deluxe versions there's bonus tracks that don't fit in with the story. I like them but I kinda wish they were put somewhere else. Or maybe labeled as act two on the case? I don't know, but this EP is fucking great 10/10

Now, onto part two (2 weeks later)

Violent J-Wizard of the Hood (follow-up) --as suggested from @a*******************n (KidKrazy before he was admin) -- : a while back I reviewed this album but didn't explain it too well. Noes that time. Here's the story:1-intro : a simple intro from the duke of the wicked simply explaining how he's going to be telling this story.2-let it rain: violent j is in his home of Detroit when a storm begins. He's doing his every day activities when the tornado shows up and shit hits the fan.3-yellow brick alleyway: as his house lands in oz he steps it and is greeted by foul mouthed munchkins. He realizes that he's killed the witch so he begins to pretend that he did it on purpose to get on the munchkins good side. They tell him how to get home and they begin to party 4-homies 2 smoke with:J is confused so he sits down to smoke and think when he suddenly hears a voice (monoxide) the voice is that of a scarecrow asking him for a hit of his blunt. I pulls the scarecrow down from the pole and says he can come along with him to oz 5-thug whilin: walking along someone begins to rob these two. The robber is the tin man (Madrox) who is trying to rob them with the gun that he doesn't even have. He soon joins then so he can get a gun from the wizard6-horribly horrifying: walking through a forest j begins to get paranoid when suddenly the lion (blaze ya dead homie) jumps out. A battle ensued (kinda) and blaze joins them so he can get bitches from the wizard.7-what u thinkin about?: the four go into a mushroom field. They take some of them and all begin to kick back sharing with each other what they're thinking about. Violent j says he misses home...8-shiny diamonds: he begins to explain why he misses home so much and says that it's not always good at home but the few days it is makes it all worth while.9-the wizards palace: they finally make it and pass by a palace guard (ABK) who lets them in to see the wizard (Shaggy 2 Dope). The wizard, when asked for the things they were looking for, teaches them all valuable lessons.

As always thanks for reading MMFWCL
